With this house we have configured a new spatial idea for a wooden house constructed with traditional wood techniques. Social life is central. A big kitchen with a snug, dining room and living room, connection to a private garden that is separate from the nearby street. The site is flat and has a strong relationship with the forest to the east. To the southeast, you have wonderful views to the sea. These views, and the surrounding’s chromatic richness, all contribute to the final outline of Villa T531.

The aim was to achieve harmony between the nature and the house, where its materiality achieves maximal harmony between landscape and building, together with a beautiful and honest aging.

The house consists of two architectonic bodies, a rectangular core and a protective layer folding over itself. In doing so, the protective layer cooperates with the house construction. A composition of wall and beam system cares for the primal load bearing while the secondary load bearing system is the protective layer.

The beautiful larch facade completes with the concrete walls that harmonises with the forest. The building’s form and materials create a harmonic unity between Halmstad’s heritage and nature. The social life takes place in the centre. The house as an enormous pedagogic value as an example of how a differente architectonic design can be applied and still follows the town's regulations and blends with nature.
